What’s Happening in Lubbock? (updated August 31, 2011) A fun time was had by all at the Holly Hop Café in Indiana Gardens Shopping Center last Saturday, August the 27th. It is a cute place to meet complete with a juke box that plays Buddy Holly, Elvis and all the Golden Oldies. Some of the girls from the Class of ’59 met together for lunch. We had a great time talking and remembering all the good times we have had together through the years. We had eleven girls to come and we want to encourage others to come as well. There are a large number of class members living in this area. We hope to “do lunch” twice a year.
We made some pictures to share with everyone. The first picture shows everyone that came. Starting on the left side at the front is: Marcia Maxcey Abbott, JoAnn Shafer Hunt, Kattie Potts Carrell, Annette Watkins Dalton, Kay Graham Johnson and Barbara McCoy Pitman. Starting on the right side at the front is: Linda Hicks Wigner, Myrtle Davis McDonald, Sharon Gowen Towns, Gayle Wyatt Langston and Marguerite Turner McWilliams. Marguerite can’t be seen in the first picture, but she is in the 5th picture. Click here to see the slideshow.
