Linda Elliott and her good friend, Skye

You can run, but you cannot hide, at least not if Linda Elliott is on your case. Linda says she's always worked in insurance, but we don't quite believe her. She must have spent some time as a detective, or maybe a spy. It is only because of her intelligence and tenacity that we know how to reach almost every member of Monterey '59 all these years after our graduation. Thank you, Linda. We appreciate your talent and effort.

Skye (whose registered name is Woodlake's
Overnight Express) is a blue merle Australian shepherd female, who just won her ASCA championship. We think she has great poise and eyes that can swallow you whole! That championship is well deserved. Linda and Skye are a true love match.

Larry Duke on one of his six trips to Africa
 for hunting wild game

When Larry Duke gets away from it all he really
gets away. Out of the country, out of the
continent, out of the hemisphere, below the
equator and then into a jungle.

Chuck Ellis and Don Blanton with friends? in Ft. Lauderdale

Chuck Ellis (second from left) and Don Blanton (far right) are going to have to show and tell you about these guys they are hanging out with. Frankly, we are at a loss to explain any part of it!

  Naples golfing buddies

Kerstin Larsson Moro (our exchange student) was in Florida on a golfing holiday and Don Blanton drove over to Naples Florida to play golf with her.

Nancy McNutt Johnson and husband Jimmie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a party given by their four daughters. Pictured left to right are daughters Kathy Moore, Deana Johnson, the happy couple Nancy and Jimmie, and daughters Jenny McDonald and Wendy Gill.

Kathy and her husband Rodney live in Beaumont and are missionaries to the Philippines. Deana taught medical assistance at Remington College and is associated with Pate Industries working with the brain damaged clients.
Jenny and her husband Jerry live in Eufaula, OK. He is associate pastor at Calvary Church Ministries. Wendy is an LVN and her husband is an engineer with the railroad and teaches safety control. They live in Longview.

Jimmie still travels with his job, VPG, Inc., Bonham, as a regional sales mgr. In their spare time, the couple enjoy fishing in Taylor Reservoir, Colorado, and going to the local country opry shows. Nancy has retired from the retail business and spend time helping with the great grand babies!

Artist and fisherman extraordinaire, Jane Wylie Aebersold,
holds the sizable trout she caught on her 2008 vacation
  at Bridger Teton National Forest

Wise fish dread the day that '59er Jane quits her day job. And so do art lovers. Jane, who earned her BFA from Newcomb Art School, Tulane University and her MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, has maintained a private studio from 1972 through the present.

She has lived and worked in Vermont, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Oklahoma. She was a member of the studio arts faculty at Bennington College in Vermont from 1972 to 1993. She has been a member of the University of Oklahoma School of Art faculty since 2000. She also serves as Curator of Ceramics at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art. Jane's work is represented in private collections as well as permanent collections of a number of museums.

Jane has two sons and six grandchildren. We wonder whether Janie has one of those stickers on her kiln that reads, "I'd rather be fishing."
